Can I have two shields or two armours?
No: in front of your Hero there is only one defence of each type (shield, armour, helmet, cloak). If you play one of a type you already have, the game asks whether to replace it. Defence spells can stay together if they are different (Stone Wall + Mirror Image), not two of the same.
